Darnell Creek Falls
![]() |
Darnell Creek Falls is another one of the many smaller falls in Rabun County. Located outside of Rabun Gap off of Hwy 441, it is relatively easy to reach by car; and the walk is short, about 1/4 of a mile. An update as of April 2005: When we returned to these falls in April 2005, there were NO TRESPASSING signs posted everywhere in the area, so I would recommend that visitors either stay away or find out who owns the land and ask permission to visit. Unfortunately, it looked like there was some storm damage in the area when we visited, and, as you can see, the falls is rather clogged up with the remains of fallen trees. The falls are about 15 feet and the creek area is very pretty and very quiet. There were no other visitors when we were there. I enjoyed these falls because they reminded me somewhat of Raven Cliff Falls, at which the water passes through a narrow, almost vertical channel before landing in a pool below. These are the only two falls that I know of in North Georgia that are like this, although there may be more. |
