Dicks Creek Falls

Located near Clayton down Warwoman road, this falls is breathtaking. There is about a half mile, pleasant hike to the falls if you stop before the first ford over the creek. However, you can ford two creeks and reach a parking area with a shorter hike. As you walk down a steep hill on a narrow path, the Nagoochee River comes into view in a breathtaking twist and Dicks Creek runs into the river (see below). Just up the stream a few feet is the falls. There is no platform to prevent access and you can scramble over some rocks and get a very nice view of these falls. The openness of the confluence of these two rivers is quite beautiful and quite unexpected the first time one ventures to these falls. |
