Lower Helton Creek Falls

There are two falls along Helton creek and both are accessible through a short downhill hike of about a quarter of a mile. The falls are located off of hwy 19 not far south of Vogel State Park. This highway, from Dahlonega to Vogel State Park is a wonderful corridor for numerous falls such as Cane Creek, Waters Creek, De Soto, Helton Creek, and several others.

There is a viewing platform for the upper falls, pictured below, but you can wade into the creek and scramble along rocks to get a better view. When we visited, a couple of women were sitting in front of the lower falls in chairs and reading, so it is a relaxing spot to visit.
