Waterfalls of North Georgia

IMPORTANT: Because of recent events in North Georgia, namely the murder of Meredith Emerson while she was hiking, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE FOLLOWING:

Below are some photos and links to waterfalls in North Georgia that I have had the pleasure of visiting. North Georgia and the surrounding regions are blessed with many very beautiful waterfalls, most of which are fairly easily accessible. You can click each photo to open a page with a larger photo of each falls, as well as my impression of the falls. If you want directions to any of these falls, you can feel free to email me at paulswaterfalls@yahoo.com .

There are a number of great waterfall books that you can purchase. The one I use is Mark Morrison's Waterfall Walks and Drives in Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee (H.F. Publishing, Inc). I particularly like this book because he provides very, very explicit directions for reaching each falls, as well as an appraisal of their beauty and other interesting things to see on the hike to the falls. Another book, which I have not read but have had highly recommended, is Brian A. Boyd, Waterfalls of the Southern Appalachians & Great Smoky Mountains, Fern Creek Press (Clayton, Georgia).
